We're excited to announce that we are part of Goldfinger Brewing Company’s “American Zoigl" Project.
Zoigl beers date back to the Middle Ages in Germany when villages would invest in communal brewing equipment to share in the town’s beer production. The brewing duties would rotate amongst the villagers, and when the beer was ready to be consumed, the host would hang the “Zoigl” (or brewers star) above their door to signify to the villagers that the beer is ready to be consumed. The host would convert their house into a temporary bar that was open to the townspeople to enjoy the fruits of their labor. To honor this tradition, Goldfinger Brewing Company made a wooden “zoigl,” or sign, and shipped it to Live Oak, who also brewed, and then shipped the sign to us. We’re third in the party. We will be passing it on to another brewery after a length of time.
Urban Chestnut's American Zoigl is an amber American corn lager that’s easy drinking but flavorful.
