Urban Chestnut creates badge to celebrate 10 years

To kick off UCBC's year-long 10th anniversary celebration, we’re giving ourselves (and you) a 10-year commemorative badge!

Since January 2011, we have been brewing high-quality Lagers & Ales in St. Louis, MO, and for the past five years, in Wolnzach, Germany, too. Staying true to our European heritage and thirst for innovation, we wanted to emulate a traditional Fußball/soccer club crest with a design that represents the foundational character of Urban Chestnut Brewing Company:

A. St. Louis City Flag

St. Louis City is the home of both our Grove & Midtown Breweries, where we constantly strive to be respected for our actions as a member of the St. Louis community - from the sustainability methods we employ during our brewing processes to a concerted emphasis in aiding local non-profit organizations to reach their fundraising goals.

B. Bavarian Flag

Our other brewery is located in the Hallertau region of southern Germany, near our Brewmaster/Co-Founder, Florian Kuplent’s, home town. Here we brew our Hallertauer Serie - small batches of locally sourced, Bavarian bier.

C. Red-orange & Blue Stripes

Red-Orange and Blue are the colors we use to distinguish our Reverence & Revolution beer series. The Reverence series (Blue) represents our classic, European beer styles. The Revolution series (Red-Orange) represents our modern, American beer styles.

D. Chestnut Leaf in Goblet

The chestnut leaf within the goblet symbolizes our authentic heritage and proven quality. Bavarians traditionally planted chestnut trees to shade their biergartens. The goblet represents our constant aim to produce high-quality Lagers & Ales.

E. Founding Banner

We opened our brewery doors, and served our first pours on Jan. 26, 2011.

You can find our 10th anniversary badge on merchandise and packaging as we celebrate this milestone throughout 2021. The badge is not the only way we'll celebrate. We’ll have quarterly(and sometimes more frequent) releases with a special series of commemorative beers featuring a few of our favorite recipes from over the last 10 years.
